Mr Ruben VARDANYAN
Ruben VARDANYAN is an Armenian-Russian social entrepreneur, impact investor and philanthropist. He serves on advisory boards of the International Finance Corporation and Brazil’s Fundacao Dom Cabral business school. He is also a board member of many companies and NGOs, including Ameriabank and SOLLERS. A prominent financier, Ruben is known both for his commercial projects, such as Troika Dialog investment bank, and his philanthropic endeavors, including Eastern Europe’s first UWC college in Dilijan, Armenia and the world’s longest cableway to an ancient monastery (the Tatev Revival Project).
Together with partners, Ruben and his family have invested some $500 million U.S. dollars in projects in Armenia, developing a commercial approach to finding solutions for social problems. Ruben and partners have also raised over $500 million for SKOLKOVO, Russia’s first private business school. In 2015, Ruben co-founded the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, a global initiative established on behalf of survivors of the Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors.
Ruben also spends a significant amount of time on developing Russia’s charity infrastructure through PHILIN (Philanthropy Infrastructure) and works on issues related to wealth curation and succession through Phoenix Advisors. He also chairs the judging committee for PwC’s Business Book of the Year in Russia award.
