Mr Terry VIRTS
Terry VIRTS is a former NASA astronaut and colonel in the United States Air Force. He is a veteran of two spaceflights, a two-week mission onboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 2010 and a 200-day flight to the Space Station in 2014/2015.
While Terry was in space he took over 300,000 still images, more than on any other space mission, and was an integral part of filming and starring in the recent IMAX film “A Beautiful Planet,” narrated by Jennifer Lawrence. His book, “View From Above,” is a National Geographic work that combines some of his best photographs from space with stories of spaceflight, perspectives on life on earth, and our place in the cosmos.
Terry’s other recent projects include co-hosting National Geographic’s coverage of the 2017 eclipse, using his drone and cinematographer skills to film great white sharks off the coast of Mexico and visiting and filming in Antarctica and the South Pole. He is currently working on a television project which will feature a variety of unique regions of earth, as seen from space.
Terry also speaks extensively throughout Asia and Europe, sharing his awesome experiences and surprising perspectives on our planet’s environment and global wealth. He is an expert on the importance of strategy and vision, innovation, and intercultural leadership. Terry speaks French and Russian and has lived and worked extensively abroad, bringing a unique and powerful perspective on today’s global environment.
