Gareth STOCKDALE is CEO of the Micro:bit Educational Foundation with a mission to inspire every child to create their best digital future. The Foundation is a not for profit organization which works to broaden participation in digital creativity, harnessing physical computing and the maker movement and bringing them into the classroom.
In 2014 Gareth was Co-project lead of the BBC Learning initiative that brought together 30 partners to design, manufacture and deliver one million BBC micro:bits to every 11 and 12 year old in the U.K. He then led on the formation of the Foundation so that more children around the world could be inspired.
As well as the BBC micro:bit Gareth has worked on U.K. education campaigns within his role as Head of Operations for BBC Learning including Terrific Scientific, Bitesize and Super Movers in partnership with the Premier League.
